Frederick Louis Corts, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 14, 2017. Fred was born to Chris W. and Nellie Corts on July 3rd, 1926 in Star City, Indiana.  After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. After leaving the Navy, he went to college and graduated from the I.U. School of Journalism. Fred worked for the Ashtabula Star Beacon as a reporter in the sports department and then as the Sports Editor for the Geneva Free Press in Geneva, Ohio. After leaving there, he took a job as a reporter for the Indianapolis Star/News and later served as the Real Estate Editor.  One of his favorite duties while working for the Indianapolis Star/News was serving as the Game Director for the Indiana – Kentucky All-Star games. When he left the Star/News, he became the Executive Vice President for the Metropolitan Board of Realtors and eventually became a real estate broker himself. He worked for several companies as a broker, finally ending up with Re/Max. He is a member of the Re/Max International Hall of Fame. Fred continued to sell real estate until just a few weeks before his death.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Nellie Corts; his sister, Naomi Miller; his brother, Harold Corts; and his grandson, Kevin Corts.  He is survived by his wife, Joyce Corts; his children, Karl Corts, Karen Corts and Kristine Waters (and husband David); his step-children, Larry and Eric Beeler (and wife Jennifer); his grandchildren, Kristopher Corts, Karla Forslund, Dexter Wu,  Lesley, Kelsey, and Megan Waters; his step-grandchildren, Kiera Billingsley, Kameron Corts, Anora and Luke Beeler; and great-grandchildren, Arlo and Abner Forslund.
